Review: Cinnamon Heart Pu’erh from David’s Tea
“Better than candy”
They got it right.
I’ve been impressed with David’s Tea company since the day they opened in Toronto. Everything from the Quality of teas they serve to the clean minimalist design of their stores and packaging.
This tea simply personifies David’s Teas mantra to keeping thing simple and accessible.
If you haven’t tried pu’erh tea before, well it usually isn’t the best flavour in the world. You really need to acquire the taste and see the benefits first hand (increase circulation, etc.) Depending on what pu’erh you get, you can find yourself drink cat piss.
This tea however ends up having a wonderful balance of Black tea, cinnamon, cloves, and waves of citrus.
I really can’t tell if there is pu’erh in it at all.
Now if you are looking purely for health benefits. This might not be for you.
The concentration of pu’erh to the rest of the ingredients seems minimal (although no exact confirmation from David’s Tea) but the mix is divine!
I think I have drank this tea straight for the past day or so. Cold, hot, luke warm. Just delicious. I haven’t had a tea this good since the 2008 World Tea Champs “Black Celebration” (oh how I miss that tea… if anyone knows where I can get some… email me!)
